Massachusetts College of Art and Design

Massachusetts College of Art and Design, under the leadership of President Kay Sloan, has sponsored and supported DIGMA from its inception in 2007. The college, founded in 1873, has a legacy of leadership as the only independent public college of art and design in the country and the nation's first art school to grant a degree. The college offers a comprehensive range of baccalaureate and graduate degrees in art and design, all taught by world-class faculty, along with continuing education and youth programs designed to encourage individual creativity. Massachusetts Cultural Council

The mission of the Massachusetts Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities. As a state agency, MCC receives an annual appropriation from the state legislature, as well as support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Funding for DIGMA is provided through the Adams Arts Program for the Creative Economy. Link to website

The John Adams Innovation Institute

The John Adams Innovation Institute serves as the economic development division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. The Innovation Institute is dedicated to improving conditions for growth in the Commonwealth's innovation economy, supporting focused economic development projects that enhance innovation and provide for long-term growth of the knowledge economy in all regions of the state. The Innovation Institute manages two public purpose investment funds making targeted, strategic investments to strengthen industry clusters; support the Commonwealth's research enterprise and grow the knowledge economy in regions across the state. Boston Foundation

As Greater Boston's community foundation, the Boston Foundation devotes its resources to building and sustaining a vital, prosperous city and region, where justice and opportunity are extended to everyone. We fulfill this mission in three principal ways:

  • Making grants to nonprofit organizations and designing special funding initiatives to address this community's critical challenges;
  • Working in partnership with donors and other funders to achieve high-impact philanthropy; and
  • Serving as a civic hub and center of information, where ideas are shared, levers for change are identified, and common agendas for the future are developed.

Create Boston

Create Boston was launched by Mayor Thomas M. Menino in 2005. Managed by the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the program is designed to help creative businesses and entrepreneurs grow and reach their full potential for success by providing City resources such as financing, site location, workforce development assistance, business advocacy and research.
